About me, Tres Melton
I am the founder of Rocky Mountain Streams, LLC and the chief architect of the site. I am also the chief videographer and onsite engineer. This all started while I was helping The Pikes Peak Economics Club stream their monthly meetings online. Since then I have been asked to do the same thing for a number of other entities around the state. This site was to originally to help me organize everything that I had done (that is publicly available) in a single location. It has grown since then.
This site is also by test bed for Plone which is the CMS (Content Management System) that I use to publish this page and most of the other sites that I administer. Plone itself is not an easy thing to setup nor administer. Its greatest strength is its ease of use for the end user. Saying that I have some computer illiterate users would be putting it mildly. Some of my users are almost afraid of touching anything. Yet, with a little instruction and hand-holding everyone that I have created a site for is creating their own content with little or no help from me. The management interface in Plone is second to none and allows for very fine grained control of the content with multiple roles that can be assigned to a user or group of users.
I have been working with computers in some fashion or another for the last thirty years so this site is just the next step in my evolution. I've only been working with digital audio/video for a few years now but I've picked up a lot of tricks. If you want to see any examples of my work then please check out the Portfolio page of the site. If there are any other computer related things you want to discuss with me then contact me with the Contact button at the bottom of every page.
I look forward to working with you in the future,
Tres
